The new ordinance imposes a “Stopping Or Standing Prohibited” restriction on both sides of Clairemont Road From West Montgomery Avenue to a spot west for 235 feet and on both sides of Spruce Lane from West Montgomery Avenue to a spot northeast for 280 feet. “It really helped, and thank you to all of the parents … for actually going into the school to pick up and drop off your children and not clogging up the neighborhood streets,” Commissioner Andy Gavrin said. Township officials have indicated they’d rather have parents drive into the school to drop off or pick up their children. The ordinance was initially implemented as a temporary measure following the opening of Black Rock Middle School last September. Lower Merion commissioners this week gave final approval that limits cars from stopping or standing on some of the streets near Black Rock Middle School. LOWER MERION – Parents dropping off or picking up their kids at the township’s newest middle school will face permanent restrictions this upcoming year.
